Dr. Keller had already grasped this when he decided that the sunny hillside of Cademario would be perfect for making his dream come to life: a place for wellness that could help his guests recharge their batteries and restore the balance of the mind and body.

We asked expert Claudio Andretta to give us his insights into this place and provide us with specific evidence about the positive energy that has made Kurhaus such a special location.

CLAUDIO ANDRETTA

Born in Locarno in 1975, he lives with his family in Vallemaggia. He has been involved in the passionate search for energetic places ever since he was young.

He is an expert geomancer and has dealt with research projects on ancient cultures for twenty years, visiting the places of power and practicing spiritual techniques.

Formerly an official guide for Italian-speaking Switzerland, he is currently a self-employed tour guide and accompanies visitors to energetic places for the Monte Verità Foundation, for tourist boards and for courses for adults in the Canton of Ticino.

He is the author of “Luoghi Energetici in Ticino” (Energetic Places in Ticino), also published in German “Orte der Kraft im Tessin”, one of the best-selling books in Ticino in the last five years.

What are energetic places?

“Energetic places are special places in nature, and at times in cities, that give us positive energy, in the form of vitality, good vibes, open frame of mind and connection with the spirit. Energetic places can to some extent be measured scientifically, but more important is to find the ones we like and are good for us."

How can an energetic place be “measured”?

“First of all, you can feel a place by using your perception, for example, by answering the simple question: “Do I like it here? Do I feel at ease here?”. Then you can use Bovis values, a method that can be applied either intuitively or by scientifically measuring the frequencies that a place releases. For technique enthusiasts, many environmental values can be measured, such as natural radioactivity, the amount of negative ions (oxygen-filled particles that have beneficial effects on health), static electricity, magnetism, the natural frequencies that a place releases, as well as the quality of water and air, elements that were already of key importance for the Kurhaus of the last century.”

What amazed you most about the measurements taken on the Kurhaus Cademario hill?

“Undoubtedly the very favourable position of the Kurhaus: with a positive hill on the one side and an incredible view of the lake and surrounding mountains on the other; you can really feel at your best here.”

How can the energy of the Earth positively influence our lives (or a holiday, at Kurhaus for example)?

“To receive benefits from an energetic place, it’s important to disconnect from everyday life and from the worries of work, family, school and other commitments. The ancients were wont to climb the hills around their villages to see things from a more detached perspective. I never expect miracles such as sudden, spontaneous healing to happen, but when we are relaxed, the positive energy of the Earth can certainly help our mind and body, and most of all make us feel good, which is very important in today's world."
