The most beautiful way to reach us begins at a train window. Get off at Lugano, climb towards the Malcantone, and when you open your room door the silence tells you the journey has already turned into a holiday.
Guests who come by train receive the value of their ticket as a credit to enjoy at the hotel: an extra treatment in our spa world, dinner at the restaurant, a glass at the bar as the sun sets over the Malcantone.
Book directly for at least two nights, travel by train and show your ticket at check-in. We’ll credit its value to your stay, up to CHF 100 per person, for a maximum of two people per room.

A tree for every arrival
We wanted your choice to leave a mark beyond these walls.
For every booking that benefits from the offer, we fund the planting of a tree in Switzerland. The contribution is entirely ours: it costs you nothing and is never deducted from your credit. It is simply how we follow through on your decision to take the train.
We’ve partnered with Almighty Tree, a Swiss organisation that plants trees in Switzerland, working alongside forest owners, municipalities and farmers. Not distant projects you’ll never hear about again: woodlands here, chosen together with the people who care for this land every day.
Their work goes beyond putting trees in the ground. They favour species suited to local needs, with the aim of making forests more diverse and more resilient to climate change — and of supporting the biodiversity those forests shelter.
Every tree funded is documented and traceable: you’ll be able to see how many trees have grown out of our guests’ train journeys, and where they were planted.
Planting takes place in the right seasons, in autumn and spring: the tree you fund today goes into the ground at the first suitable opportunity.
